Office Move for Global GreenTag International – of the Greener Kind

Global GreenTag International moves to a sustainable, carbon neutral building in Brisbane CBD.

In December 2021, Global GreenTag International (GGTI) moved its Australian office in Queensland to a sustainable, carbon neutral building in Brisbane CBD.

Movements internally at Global GreenTag have also taken place. GGTI wished goodbye and the very best of luck to two of its product assessment team members, taking important, next steps in their career paths in the sustainability space, and welcomed two new staff members with plans afoot to bring more new faces, into the company in 2022.

Mary-Lou Kelly, Managing Director of Global GreenTag International, said:

"The move to our new office in Brisbane at ONE ONE ONE Eagle Street has marked a promising new phase for Global GreenTag International. Movement is important in eco-systems and so it is in companies. We have said our farewells to Dr Judy Luo and Saphy Hau from the GreenTag Product Assessment Team – both extraordinary young women with big futures - and we have welcomed our new Assessment Team member, Yasmin Kelly and new Marketing Assistant, Augusto (Gus) Fontes to the Brisbane office. We are looking to bring more new people into the company this year."

"Right now, the energies around Global GreenTag International are feeling full of promise.

"We are finally in a building that encapsulates what Global GreenTag's product certification services set out to do, which was to support the growth of the green building industry by providing access to quality and certified information about green building products and materials. We are supporting a building that was purposefully designed and built on sustainability principals. It has been a very successful move. You can feel the natural design principles of this building."

Prior to the move, Mary-Lou added, Global GreenTag International made the decision to downsize to a smaller office, after GGTI decided to be more flexible in its working conditions and many of its staff, decided to continue working from home.
Now residing at ONE ONE ONE Eagle Street, Dr Nana Bortsie-Ayree, Lead Product Assessor with the Global GreenTag Certification Team, added:

"When Mary-Lou Kelly had shortlisted some building options for myself and colleague, Brett Hazlett, the company's Global Sales Strategist to inspect and make a final decision upon, we didn't know that ONE ONE ONE Eagle Street was a 6 star Green Star® and 5 star NABERS Energy rating office building.

"We were won over by the building's easy transition between nature and workspace and how this was incorporated, in terms of bringing in the natural light," said Nana.

ONE ONE ONE by Cox Rayner Architects was opened in 2012 and Global GreenTag has since learnt that the lattice of light strips on the building are actually designed to mimic the way plants grow towards a light source, whilst also establishing a relationship with the 150 year old fig trees in front of the building. Also that the structure of the building was designed to one of several thousand algorithms, explored for efficiency, it being called 'growing toward the light', and chosen because it also created a synergy with the structure and ascending narrowness of the branches of the fig trees that dominate the Riverside precinct's foreground. ONE ONE ONE also received Carbon Neutral Building Certification in December 2020, under the combined NABERS and Climate Active certification pathway, and in alignment with the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

"Now in our new office in Brisbane, we feel a greater part of the green rated building environment movement, " added Nana. "Through green materials certification, which we service and promote every day, it fits in with our mission and our sustainability objectives as an organisation as well. We are proud to say that we are walking the talk."
