Global GreenTag International Launches Expanded EPD Program with New Website & Low Cost Digital Portal

New dedicated EPD platform provides manufacturers and suppliers with expanded pathways to develop, verify, publish and increase the market reach and value of Environmental Product Declarations.

Global GreenTag International has launched an expanded Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Program, supported by a new dedicated EPD website and purpose-built online Portal, creating a comprehensive gateway for manufacturers and suppliers and their Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Consultants seeking to develop, publish and increase the market reach of independently verified environmental product information in accordance with ISO 14025, ISO 14040/14044, ISO 21930 and EN 15804 standards.

As an internationally recognised ECO Platform Programme Operator, Global GreenTag now provides an expanded suite of EPD services spanning the development and independent verification of new EPDs, publication and international visibility, support for existing EPD owners, and pathways for international manufacturers seeking acceptance of their EPDs in the Australian and Global markets.

The launch represents an important evolution of the Global GreenTag EPD Program—from solely providing EPD development, verification and publication services to supporting manufacturers and LCA Consultants verify, publish and better distribute digital data to global markets through the ECO EPD branding recognition and ECO Platform digital data availability dramatically improving the use and leverage of their efforts throughout the broader lifecycle and market application of their Environmental Product Declarations.

Importantly, the GreenTag EPD program is now "in a position to reduce pricings for EPD services including hosting of EPDs from third parties, in line with the development of the new online portal - a result of the efficiencies the portal is bringing to GreenTag's EPD production and publication capability," states Dr Nana Bortsie-Aryee, Program Director at Global GreenTag International.

Four pathways for manufacturers and EPD owners

The expanded program provides four key pathways.

For manufacturers developing new EPDs, Global GreenTag provides full service technical support, EPD development, independent verification, and publication through the Global GreenTag EPD Program Portal and, for eligible EPDs (EN 15804 compliant), publication on the internationally recognised ECO Platform.

For LCA Consultants and their clients, the new GreenTag EPD Portal automatically generates EPD documents and enables exports of .PDF files from inputted data using a number of standardized customisable templates. Peer review, all communication and financial transactions happen and within the portal, all fully encrypted end to end.

For manufacturers that already own EPDs issued through other recognised programme operators, eligible declarations can now be hosted on the new Global GreenTag EPD website, providing an additional platform to increase their visibility and accessibility to the Australian and Global markets, with ECO Platform publication where applicable. This is the new fast way to economically generate and distribute your EPDs.

For manufacturers outside Australia, Global GreenTag provides an independent pathway for the review of internationally developed EPDs for acceptance within the Australian market, helping companies bring credible environmental product information to Australian designers, specifiers, procurement professionals and green building projects seeking carbon and LCA data.

Together, the expanded Global GreenTag EPD Program Portal offers LCA Consultants, manufacturers, and suppliers:

• Development and independent verification of new EPDs from manufacturer data from scratch as a stand alone EPD provider;
• Automated, low cost EPD generation, with peer review, registration, hosting and distribution for LCA Consultants;
• Publication through Global GreenTag's internationally recognised EPD Programme;

Making verified environmental product information easier to access

The new dedicated EPD website is also designed to serve the growing number of architects, designers, engineers, specifiers, procurement professionals, sustainability consultants, and other decision-makers seeking credible environmental information about products.

By bringing independently verified EPD information into a dedicated, searchable environment, and distributing into the ECO Platform, the portal will help make environmental product data easier to discover and use in product comparison, specification, procurement, whole building upfront carbon assessment and sustainability decision-making.

A new digital pathway for EPD assessment and publication

At the centre of the expanded program is Global GreenTag's new online EPD Portal, developed to simplify and improve the experience of preparing and submitting the information required for EPD assessment.

The Portal provides manufacturers LCA Consultants and their technical teams with a dedicated digital environment for submitting documentation and assessment information, auto-generating EPDs, peer reviewing, managing projects and collaborating with Global GreenTag's technical assessment team.

This is particularly valuable because the development of an EPD can require information from multiple areas of a business—including sustainability, product stewardship, technical services, manufacturing, engineering, procurement and supply chain teams.

The Portal is designed to make that process more structured and manageable while supporting the technical rigour and high-level cybersecurity required to protect manufacturers reputation, brands and data confidentiality.
