Global GreenTag International Launches Digital EPDs on ECO Portal, Advancing Automated Environmental Data Sharing

Global GreenTag International has released its suite of Construction Product Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in fully digital format through the ECO Portal, signalling a step forward for streamlined environmental data exchange in the built environment sector.

This development enables product manufacturers to share verified environmental impact information more efficiently, reducing delays associated with manual data handling. As more design and engineering teams adopt BIM and digital-first workflows, the ability for EPD data to integrate seamlessly into LCA tools is becoming increasingly important.

Digital EPDs allow architects, designers, engineers, and LCA practitioners to access Global GreenTag's independently verified impact datasets directly from the EcoPortal, improving interoperability with major design and modelling platforms. The transition supports more consistent pathways for achieving LCA-related credits in leading green building rating tools, including those that accept EPD evidence aligned with recognised standards.

Dr Nana Bortsie-Aryee, Program Director at Global GreenTag, highlighted that the shift supports broader industry moves toward automation and data transparency.

Providing EPDs in digital format helps reduce friction in early-stage modelling and supports more accurate environmental impact calculations throughout a project's lifecycle design process. For manufacturers, it also increases discoverability of their certified products within digital workflows, making it easier for project teams to consider and specify products with third-party verified environmental performance data.

Digital EPDs published through the ECO Portal follow established international EPD schema structures. Designers and LCA professionals can now search and access the data directly via the ECO Portal online database.
