Global GreenTag Partners with Furniture Industry to squash 'greenwashing'

A new initiative has been launched to support the Australian Furniture Association - the peak industry association for the furnishing sector supply chain in Australia - to promote and develop more responsible practices in the industry through certification.

The Australian Furniture Association (AFA) and the Australian Furniture Industry Stewardship Council (AFISC) are pleased to announce their partnerships with Global GreenTag International (GGTI), a globally recognised leader in sustainability certification for products. These collaborations reaffirm a shared commitment to responsible sourcing, sustainable procurement, and circular economy principles across the furniture sector.

As industry expectations evolve, businesses are increasingly looking for credible certification and guidance to ensure their products align with best practices in environmental responsibility and compliance.

Through these partnerships, AFA and AFISC Members will have discounted access to certification pathways that support their sustainability goals, ensuring they are well-positioned to meet growing market and procurement demands.

✔ 5% discount on annual renewal fees, making long-term certification more accessible.

✔ Ongoing 10% discount on re-certification fees at the end of the three-year certification cycle.

Exclusive Benefits for Businesses with GGTI-Certified Products

Organisations with GGTI-certified products will also receive benefits through AFA and AFISC, including:
✔ 10% discount on AFA/AFISC Membership fees.

These benefits offer members a practical and cost-effective way to strengthen their sustainability credentials, supporting their business objectives and enhancing their position in the market.

Working Together for a More Sustainable Future

This partnership highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing to advance sustainable practices across the industry. By working together, AFA, AFISC, and GGTI will continue to support businesses in adopting more sustainable manufacturing and procurement processes, while ensuring compliance with evolving industry standards.

AFA and AFISC encourage Members to explore these opportunities and take advantage of the benefits available through this collaboration.
