The original 40/4® chair by David Rowland is a multi-purpose stacking chair designed for conferencing, meetings, training, dining, and guest seating. It is stackable up to 40 pieces on a dolly.
Fire performance has been proven with passes of:
- Non-ignition test according to the criteria of ignition described in EN 1021-1, chapter 3 (Report Number: 177773-5-PMI) and EN 1021-2, chapter 3 (Report Number: 177773-10-PMI), done by Danish Technological Institute in March 2023 (Report Number: 177773-5-PMI).
- Criteria A and Criteria B of the California TB-133 Burn Test (Report No.: 101245707GRR-001 June 28, 2013) done in June 2013.
VOC emissions and formaldehyde, product complies with the requirements of ANSI/BIFMA M7.1-2011 and the limit values given in ANSI/BIFMA X7.1-2011 for seating (Report No. 392-2013-00034701rev) in August 2013.
Regarding strength, product follows the requirements of:
- ANSI/BIFMA X5.4-2020 (Report Number: 226842-2-ANSI/BIFMA X5.4), tests done by Danish Technological Institute in January 2024;
- EN 16139:2013, Furniture - Strength, durability and safety - Requirements for non-domestic seating (Report Number: 187853-14) by Danish Technological Institute in December 2023.
