Desso's ProBase Modular Carpet Piece, Space and Solution Dyed are manufactured from nylon fibre pile and primary polyester and secondary modified bitumen backing. The product is suitable for residential and commercial extra heavy traffic areas such as offices and education, and it is available in a wide range of colours.
Desso's innovative mechanical separation technique called Refinity® enables easy separation of yarn fibres from bitumen backing. Yarn is then reused in the manufacture of new carpets and bitumen is recycled in roofing, road building and concrete. Almost all Desso modular carpet tiles are C2C Bronze or Silver certified.
Desso, a Tarkett company has a Product Stewardship Program in place. The products are collected at the end of life and sent to recycling facilities where the product is easily disassembled and recycled. The material is then used in the production of new carpet products or used in other recycling initiatives as a part of their ReStart program.
