Desso's, Modular Carpet Tiles with Desso EcoBase® backing are manufactured from nylon fibre pile, a polyester primary backing and a polyolefin based secondary backing. The product is suitable for residential and commercial extra heavy traffic areas such as offices and education, and it is available in a wide range of colours.
Desso's innovative mechanical separation technique enables easy separation of yarn fibres from backing based on the weight of the material. Yarn is then reused in the manufacture of new carpets and backing is recycled in Desso's production process. All Modular Carpet Tiles with Desso EcoBase® backing are certified either C2C Gold or Silver.
Desso, a Tarkett company has a Product Stewardship Program in place. The products are collected at the end of life and sent to recycling facilities where the product is easily disassembled and recycled. The material is then used in the production of new carpet products or used in other recycling initiatives as a part of their ReStart program.
